This weekly class is an integrated practice to support the muscles that help us breathe deeply – strong back bending, strengthening the muscles around the rib cage and the diaphragm.  In addition to breath-centered movement, each class will also include deep resting, and deep breathing (Pranayama) along with time to sit quietly (meditation/visualization).

Group classes with Tammy give students the opportunity to explore their bodies and minds in a group setting. Thanks to the flexibility of the Viniyoga approach, group classes can be designed to support a variety of needs for the students.

There will be a strong emphasis on integrating of breath and movement using yoga postures (Asana) and breath control. Classes are typically grouped into a series of ten or more, and group workshops can also be arranged to focus on a particular topic for a few hours. Class focuses can include, but are not limited to:

  • A particular aspect of health such as strengthening the back, increasing flexibility or stress reduction,
  • Groups of people who share common goals such as members of a corporate office or runners preparing for a race,
  • People sharing a common situation in life such as suffers of back pain, pregnant women, or new mothers.
